For all those saying, “Cubtober” I wish you the best!
Here at the Creek I sit. Grateful and believing that the power of prayer and thoughts filled with good vibrations kept us safe from Hurricane Matthew. My inner wisdom just a bit smug that I had the good sense to move west when I did…west coast of Florida that is. Our area was under a Tropical Storm Watch yesterday. Today it is overcast and breezy. Luckily, gratefully, we are safe! My thoughts and prayers continue for those not so lucky. Long will I remember experiencing Hurricane Andrew. Once is enough.
My eyes keep shifting from the monitor to the Spanish moss floating in the breeze outside the window. The moss drips from the mature trees along the edge of the creek in my back yard. During the humid summer months, its easy to imagine the trees are dripping with perspiration. Now in the breezes left behind by Hurricane Matthew, the moss floats like bearded ghosts ready for Halloween. I love it! It may not be a good pool day but it’s good nonetheless.
In keeping with my loosely structured plan to try something new everyday or at least as frequently as possible, I have a list. Some far less interesting than others.
No one can probably imagine how much it would thrill me to actually get paid for writing. I’ve searched possibilities and researched those seeming too good to be true. But, the good news is I may have hit upon something. Many hours weeding through work at home sites, I came across RatRaceRebellion.com . It seems that most if not all of their listings for work from home jobs are viable and legitimate. I clicked on squadhelp.com . It is actually billed as a contest site. No money upfront. The prize money is modest and funded by individual sponsors seeking ideas to name their start-ups or ecommerce ventures.
Those interested in submitting ideas can first read an overview of the business. Before contestants hit “submit” immediate feedback lets you know if that name/URL is available. If it is not, the submission can be revised or deleted. The only limit to the number of entries is one’s imagination. So far, its fun. I only first begun a week ago. The website for squadhelp also offers a dashboard to check individual status of entries, countdown to contest deadline, how many submissions and rates each on a scale from ‘Love it’ to ‘No Thanks.’
At least I can now feel that the potential for payment is real…
…and it keeps blowing along.
